Coming to Disney+ we see a very long but definitely not awaited sequel to Willow. This isn’t to say I’m not happy to see it, thirst first film was a fantastic fantasy romp with some great comedic performances, exciting action sequences and creature effects that hold up pretty well today. It’s just that the movie felt conclusive but hey, it’s not a reboot which I’m happy about. Warwick Davis is back in the role of Willow with some new faces as well as old but sadly I don’t think we’ll get to see Val Kilmer reprise the role of Mad Mardigan, for me the best bit about the first film. Let’s hope he gets a well deserved nod in this new one.

Warwick David effortlessly slips back into the titular role of Willow, that will be premiering as a series on Disney+ in November. This trailer perfectly captures the essence of the classic film and picks up it's plot too. The visuals, practical effects and real life locations that they filmed on all blend together really well.

Episodes one and two.

I didn't think an expansion of the Willow universe would work but the first two episodes shows that it has a lot of potential. Warwick Davis' charisma carries the show and he's supported brilliantly by the returning Joanne Whalley. Kilmer's Madmardigan is referred to and I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a cameo appearnace at some point in the future, similar to his cameo in Top Gun Maverick. The new cast of Erin Kellyman, Ruby Cruz, Tony Revolori, Ellie Bamber and Amar Chadha-Patel all add a bit of drama, action and comedy to the show. The cinematography is beautifully epic and proof that the only good things that George Lucas made wasn't just Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

Episode three
As the quest to retrieve Arik from Crone and bringing him back to Tir Asleen continues. But they also have to find another member of the group that has gone missing. And that mission to comes at a great cost.

Episode four
The gang go to Nockmaar in order to help Graydon. Kit discovers something bout her past. Arik is adjusting to his new surroundings.

Episode five
Graydon has feelings for one of the group. Boorman meets some former associates. Jade finds out something about when she was young.

Episode six
After the abduction of a couple members of the group, the remaining members seek to rescue them. During this quest they come into contact with someone that knows something about Kit and Boorman.

I watched bit of it and it not bad feel like they should have done a willow 2 movie but what I have seen of this series not bad a few characters have come back with was nice to see and feel it keep the magic with a mix of new elements and nice to see the story movie forward with connects to the original movie and the villains look pretty good and tough and was surprised and but question who dressed willow with that outfit lol.

Episode seven
Arik develops a friendship with his ally. Kit is reunited with the group. Willow trains his apprentice. Graydon was undiscovered potential. The perilous journey is taking an emotional toll on the group.

Episode eight - season one finale
Elora and Kit reunite with Arik but something doesn't seem right. Boorman, Graydon and Jade take a leap of faith. Willow has to confront his visions of the future.
