For those that didn't watch it, England Throw Away 1st ODI in Antigua
West Indies: 269 for 6 (50.0 overs)
After getting the W-Indies 45-4, England decide to bowl like a bunch of girlies again and gift the W-Indies with a decent enough total.
England Innings: 254 for 6 (50.0 overs)
and our batsmen, also batted like girlies and couldn't put away the W-Indies attack, which isn't that awesome at all...
So Stuart Broad, another loss under your belt mate, fuck off, you're not a Captain, let's get someone in there who can do the job...
If we keep sliding down that table, we'll be battling against the likes of Netherlands, Scotland, Kenya and Ireland to regain top 8 status!!!! -

2nd ODI
England win the toss and decide to bowl first, and it looks like a good decision as the West Indies cannot bat out the full 50 overs...
West Indies 159 all out from 44.2 overs...
Joe Root takes 2 wickets, 2 out of the top 3!!!! egads...
Debutant Stephen Parry (left arm spinner) finishes with 3 wickets for 32 off his 10 overs, that should have him smiling.
Now that's more like it, mind there are no real big guns in the W-Indies squad which might have swatted the ball away but still decent enough.
England only need 160, a shade over 3 an over, they can't possibly muck this one up can they!!!
and the answer is England are really trying hard to fuck it up...
29-1 becomes 30-2 before Lumb and Root make a little stand but a further few quick wickets and it's 89-6.
Brezzie then gets run out and at 105-7 it's not looking as rosy as it should be...
Bopara (38) and Broad (28) though do manage to see England over the line.. ENGLAND 163-7 from 44.5 overs, win by 3 wickets.
Not convincing at all, a win yes, but don't go patting yourselves on the back too hard lads, you should have had that game sewn up ages ago.
Game 3 on Wednesday, I would say who will win, but it's more going to be like 'who will be worse'....
MOM, should go to no one!!! but it is awarded to Stephen Parry, I suppose that's fair, a good first cap, and should give him confidence. -

Just goes to show what learning about wide rules can do for results, eh?

Yes it is disappointing seeing the England Cricket team being beaten by the West Indies, hardly a great sign of the level our team is playing at. I just wish the players had a bit of time and freedom to just go and play without being ripped to pieces in the papers, it is hard to remember that sometimes, form fades, class still remains.(01/03/2014, 01:25)thebong Wrote: why did i waste most of my day watching this ? no matter how well England start they always find a way to fuck it up

I don't know if I can agree with that, especially these days, as with all sports, it is part and parcel of the game to deal with or rather ignore the press etc, after all if it wasn't for the likes of the media paying for the rights to show the sport, the pay days would still be miniscule.
If you don't have the resolve for this, then you're not going to make it as a top sportsman. If anything, criticism, especially criticism well deserved should inspire them to pull the finger out and prove the detractors wrong.
There's too much praise these days for 'ordinary' achievements, and with sportsmen and women believing they should be worshipped almost!!! No, work hard for the respect, not just turn up and demand it. -

10 overs in to the 3rd and final ODI. England batting first and they're currently 52-2. Not the worst run-rate ever but we'll see...
The men out are Lumb for 20 and Stokes, for NOTHING!
Ali's still in on 23 and Root's made 7 so far. -

They know this pitch now as it's the 3rd match they've played there, so they should get a few runs on the board, and then we'll have to wait and see which bowling team turned up today, the shit one from the 1st ODI or the much improved one from the 2nd.
Moeen Ali, our very own Hashim Amla eh!!! -

England finish up on 303-6, which should be enough, right?
Of course it should, but one should never underestimate our ability to find ever-new ways of losing in embarrassment.
107 for Root and 99 for Jos Buttler, so close!
What you got Windies?
