Could they not include all 5 teams in if Chelsea win. Would be criminal for Newcastle to miss out if they finished 4th, and it should have the champions in defending their trophey and have the best 4 teams from England (proven in the league table). Perhaps they could bring 3rd and 4th team in the competition through the qualifying rounds to give other countries a chance to get in -

I'm not totally sure but I think the precedent was set in 2005 when Liverpool won and finished fifth which kicked up a right storm and put them in the qualifying rounds, the irony being that Everton lost in their qualifying game after finishing fourth. It would be unlucky on Newcastle but I think if you offered them top 6 at the start of the season they would have snapped your hand off even then -

Yeah thats right, think that may have been why its changed now. Either way someones gonna feel hard done by, but Newcastle have done fantastic whatever the outcome -

i dont think newcastle will make it to be honest...they have the hardest game of the lot away to everton who are bang in form at the minute...i'd like to see spurs finish above arsenal though -

If its those 3 i think Newcastle will miss out, Arsenal's "toughest" game out of the last set of fixtures is Manchester United, although Spurs can still fuck it up, seeing as they have Chelsea and Manchester City left to play
