This movie is fucking fantastic. It is inspirational, whether you are a musician or not. Watch it, its great. And i only put the teaser cause full trailers give too much away.

And also Golden Globe Spoiler......

Seen the trailers for this, something puts me off. By the description it's just someone playing drums for over an hour. Probably doesn't help that I find the lead actor (miles teller) to have the most punchable face I've ever seen, he really just looks annoying (might just be me lol).

Also it really isn't just watching him bash a set of drums. Like i said, whether you are a musician (i am) or not, you feel the feels!

The spectacular now was really good. He was also in one I saw called '2 Night Stand' which was an easy going but fun movie.

Despite the seemingly across the board praise for this and the fact that the usually dependable J.K Simmons is in it, i have a question to ask. As i cannot stand Jazz music (which i cant) would seeing this be a pointless waste of time? Does the Jazz feature heavily or is it a more character driven piece that has occassional bursts of Jazz music?

character driven piece that has occasional bursts of Jazz music, e.g When he's practising. Also characters praise jazz music and musicians. Jazz is there to help the story move along, it could easily be done with Blues or Rock.

Hey Randy Marsh. If it had been done with rock music i would have been there front and centre. Im gonna wait for the dvd / stream. It still sounds like too much jazz for my liking. Id sooner pay a few quid and not like it than the crazy prices my local odeon charges.
