7 years that's a long time. I've been there myself. I really hurt bad. I didn't eat properly for a while. I agree with JamezZ. Best to go in person and applogise. Clears up any confusion that way. It doe's seem that some ladies like the guy to treat them mean to keep them keen.
I saw a guy tell his ex to fuck off and pushed her away but she still wouldn't leave him alone. She ran after the guy down the street begging him to take her back. So there is some kind of method in the madness in going and finding someone else after you've told her to fuck off as she may come running back. I am not saying you should do that. That's up to you.
Please. Whatever you do, preserve you're self respect at all times as hard as that maybe for you. If the girl don't respect you, you've lost her anyway. Go and find another girl, use the time being single to enjoy the night clubs. There's lovely girls there who'll only be too happy to show you the way.
