Well maybe not as exciting as the footie transfer news but F1 still hasn't gone away and the new season looms upon us soon..

Well no surprise there, if he thought this was going to go away and lie down, he was very wrong, and after all, he didn't do much wrong did he, just tried to grease a few wheels, pardon the pun... but apparently he will continue to run the sport on a day-to-day basis 'subject to increased monitoring'

So Bernie is trying to assure us that it will all be hunky dory by saying - "The minute the court case is over I'll be back on the board again," he said

The Dennis & Whitmarsh Show
It didn't take long before the papers are spelling doom and gloom for Martin Whitmarsh and they could be right, but what does it all really mean?? Well, for one thing, Dennis is back to calling the shots and putting the McLaren team back on top, whether that will happen or not, we'll have to see, but it was clear that they certainly lost their way, so time for some blood-letting!!!!

NASCAR comes to F1
On a different note, it appears Gene Haas, the co-owner of the Stewart-Haas Racing team, has confirmed their interest in joining the grid from 2015 or 2016. It's just that at the moment, 'An Interest', but I dare say they wouldn't do that if they didn't think it was a distinct possibility but then again they are American, so who know? - Watch the coming weeks for more info coming out.

McLaren Reveal New Car
As promised McLaren becomes the first team to show off their new car McLaren Reveal New Car and The New MP4-29
but along with that came the news that Eric Boullier has left Lotus and will replace Martin Whitmarsh at McLaren... although McLaren has yet to confirm this.
Williams and Lotus have also released CGI photos of their new cars, nice one Lotus, trying to outshadow McLaren eh!!!

Formula 1 weight limits to be increased in 2015
Also announced earlier in the week was the intention to raise the overall weight limit by 10Kg from next season, why only then? Well it seems that some teams blocked attempts to get it in for this season!!! Spoilsports...

but what about Martin Whitmarsh?, well it seems to be all quiet about him at present, probably discussing terms of his 'pay-off'.... and what about Ross Brawn, he had denied having discussions with anyone, but that doesn't mean anything does it...
Pre season testing continues at Jerez, today's fastest driver was Jenson Button;

So the first pre-season testing at Jerez is now all over and it's a bit of mixed reactions from the teams...
RED BULL is probably the most surprising with a few issues to look at, from the Renault engine to their cooling problems caused by packing it all in a bit too tight apparently - oo-er missus!!!

So they decide to call it a day and pack it up with the Bulls' tail between its' legs... Although with Adrian Newey probably throwing his toys around behind closed doors you still wouldn't bet against them this year just yet...
McLAREN, MERCEDES, FERRARI and WILLIAMS though, seemed to be much better off, so it's a big thumbs down for the Renault teams at the moment...
ROB SMEDLEY MOVES TO WILLIAMS
After Massa moved to Williams, the other question was whether Rob Smedley would follow him? Well apparently he is although he's finishing off his 'gardening leave' with Ferrari first...
and talking of Felipe Massa, well he seemed pleased with himself, and why not, as he heads the timesheets Felipe Top of the Timesheet
I for one, hope Williams has a good year this year, and with Massa there I think they have a good chance, although way too early yet to put any predictions on for the season.
A few weeks now for them all to put it right in time for Dubai, which may cause other issues as it will be a bit hotter there, so if there are cooling problems, then it's bound to jump out at you there.... -

Yeah red bull seems to be having the most problem. They hardly have had any practice laps. Seem to have some reliability issues. Will be interesting if vettel doesnt have the best car this season, to see how he copes. I'm betting that alonso wins it this season. He seem well overdue one. -

I won't be putting any cash on him quite yet, I want to see how it all pans out with him and Kimi together as Kimi won't be his lapdog like Massa was, so will be watching Ferrari with some interest.... -

From the recent press conference -
Schumacher 'very agitated on arrival and placed into induced coma before beng operated on to relieve pressure on his brain'.
He will be kept in the coma for the time being.
The hospital staff state it's too early to make any prognosis.
Schumacher confirmed to have been wearing a helmet and the hospital added that had he not been wearing it, he would not have survived.
No second operation and 'at this moment' no second op is scheduled.
Frankly, I don't get them anymore - Sauber
Last year, they threw away probably the biggest up-and-coming talent - Frijns.
They wanted to prepare Sirotkin for a 2014 race seat. Awfully young, but possibly talented, although with the jury still out on that. That didn't materialize, but he's a test driver now I think?
Now apparently they want to get De Silvestro ready for 2015. A driver that doesn't seem particularly talented, 25 years of age, 4 years of champ cars, one podium, 13th being best ranking at the end of the season. Never won a feeder series.
So... what the hell are they thinking or doing? Saying they want to get De Silvestro ready for a 2015 race seat surely seems to destroy whatever aspirations Sirotkin still had for the seat. Are they going to play this game every year now?
And why De Silvestro, with a curriculum like she has? Just being a woman (OK, a Swiss woman) is enough? Are they that desperate for publicity?
Yes, Susie has company... from seemingly another woman that should not be there based on past performances. I'll wish her luck just like I wish that to anyone but I don't like this at all and I'll not be amused should she get a race seat over much better young drivers.
