Things have been pretty quiet on the Conor McGregor front for a while, so it was only a matter of time before the Irish MMA king was looking to step into the octagon again.
Conor has been looking to get back to work and do what he does best, but it turns out he's been rejected for a huge bout against Frankie Edgar. Fans of MMA fans will know how much of a huge fight that would be, and will probably be pretty disappointed it didn't happen.
In an Instagram post, Conor said that he'd thrown himself into the running when Max Holloway pulled out of his scheduled fight against Edgar at UFC 222, though Dana White's company were unable to come up with the funds to promote the last minute switch. Here's what Conor wrote:
I guess we'll just have to wait and see who The Notorious' next contender is.
