  ye its is joe silva loves to do those match ups but i dont know why cuz when u get a strker vs wrestler fight it usually ends up with the wrestler grinding out the striker

  lol did you guys not see weidman's last couple of fights. it's not a CLASSIC wrestler vs striker - that's what we though about silva vs weidman and look what happened there lol... weidman is a quality striker . he may not be as slick as anderson or vitor, but i wouldn't be surprised if he knocked out vitor... he got the better of the standup against lyoto too..

  weidman is not a quality striker i dont think he looks labored and of balance u can tell his style is not striking,even the punches he landed on anderson he just threw them out there,weidman is a all american wrestler and jujitsu black belt with punchers chance type striking, but nice elbows lol

  yes he isnt that good on the feet but he did ko mark munoz with the standing elbow and anderson silva

  yeah i remember that elbow i give it to him for that cuz that was just nice and crisp but u have to admit he doesnt strike like hes a striker at heart,other wrestlers like chad mendez look like strikers but its not their first style

  but see that's exactly my point, he LOOKS laboured and off balance but did he or did he not outstrike machida and anderson silva who look slick, smooth and not laboured? it's the result that counts, not what he looks like...

  oh ye he looks bad doing it but he is effective is what i mean but for me if u dont look like a striker i cant call u a quality striker thats all but thast just me and how i look at it

  yea and the truth is that if you saw weidman and anderson sparring side by side now anderson would look miles better. and if they weren't going full force but just sparring with each other i bet both machida and anderson would get the better of weidman in sparring. but it's mma and in a fight he's beaten both of them soundly.
  
  plus it's wrestling too. machida said it himself, when you scared of getting taken down, you're not as smooth a striker...

  and for weidman hitting anderson was alot easier cuz all anderson was thinking is stop the take down ,hes not thinking im get my hands up to block his pucnh and kicks ,he thinking get my hands low and get ready to sprawl ,wrestlers have such a advantage
