Anyone who thought that re-signing Carlton Cole after letting him go in the summer was as bad as it was going to get for West Ham might want to re-assess. Its gotten so desperate at Upton Park that they're about to sign Roger Johnson on loan. That's the same Roger Johnson that can't get in to the Wolves side, who are in League One.
Going down, aren't they?
Erik Lamela's in talks with Inter over a loan move. Bit quick to be writing off your £30m club record signing isn't it? Jermain Defoe could be off as well so Spurs will look to tie up deals for Juventus pair Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella as replacements. There's talk of a move for Steven Fletcher too, and Salomon Kalou, though Liverpool like the look of the former Chelsea man as well.
On Saturday David Moyes expressed doubts as to whether Wayne Rooney would sign a new contract in the summer if United didn't qualify for the Champions League. On Sunday Chelsea were reportedly preparing a £30m bid. Expect to hear a fair bit more on this one between now and the end of the month.
Robert Lewandowski's summer switch to Bayern Munich was confirmed over the weekend, and that could leave Mario Mandzukic surplus to requirements at the Allianz Arena. United and Arsenal are lurking. Did you know that Jackson Martinez supported the Gunners when he was just a lad? He'd love to join them this month.
Stoke might be about to make Stephen Ireland's loan move from Aston Villa permanent, at which point Paul Lambert will sort of replace him with Wes Hoolahan from Norwich.
The Sun reckon that Rickie Lambert wants to leave Southampton for West Ham in an £8m deal, but nothing will happen until the Saints have signed a replacement. Of all the bollocks...
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to take Wilfried Zaha to Cardiff on loan, Monaco are hoping to grab Tom Ince on the cheap and Norwich will try and succeed where West Ham failed by signing John Heitinga.
Done.
