Everyone see Aiden McGeady signing for Everton? That's big-time, that, and immediate, none of your 'at the end of the season' nonsense. Nikica Jelavic to Hull will probably happen soon too but their move for Shane Long is in doubt now that West Brom have got themselves a manager.
Chelsea like the look of 19 year-old St Etienne centre half Kurt Zouma and see him as a long-term replacement for John Terry. Presumably he's a bit racist and shags his team-mates' wives. Rumours of a return to Stamford Bridge for Nemanja Matic won't go away, they should sign him too, so the rumours go away.
A load of players supposedly on their way to Arsenal: Yoann Gourcuff, Sebastian Giovinco, Mattia Destro, Saul Niguez, Yohan Cabaye, Davide Santon, Julian Draxler. Watch in wonder as Arsene Wenger signs none of them. That Saul Niguez must be good though, the Atletico Madrid youngster is also getting the eye from Man Utd and Chelsea.
£30m for Luke Shaw? He's good, but... Still, if anyone can afford it it's Man City. They're after Paul Pogba too, which is unlikely to go down well at Old Trafford. Shifting Anderson to Fiorentina might lift the spirits though, and there's talk of Nani and Wilfried Zaha heading out on loan to Sporting Lisbon and Cardiff respectively. Patrice Evra's off at the end of the season, Nemanja Vidic too in all likelihood. You might be worrying that all this will leave the squad looking a touch light, but fear not, Fabio Coentrao's joining on loan til the end of the season. Thank God for that.
Good news for West Ham. Following on from the 'Roger Johnson experiment', they've turned their attentions to centre halves who can actually defend. Enter Joleon Lescott on a £90k a week loan deal.
