Tottenham and Real Madrid have an official special relationship type thing whereby the Spanish giants get to pick off all of Spurs' best talent. In return, Spurs get to, err, be associated with Real Madrid. So news that Hugo Lloris could be set to tread the same path as Luka Modric and Gareth Bale before him shouldn't come as much of a surprise. £20m though? Seems a bit low.
It's not all doom and gloom at the Lane though. Xherdan Shaqiri is unsettled at Bayern Munich so could join in January, provided he doesn't join Juventus (top of Serie A) instead that is.
Steven Gerrard got asked whether he'd continue playing if Liverpool didn't extend his contract beyond next summer. He answered yes to the hypothetical question, expressed a desire to stay and a day later Brendan Rodgers as good as confirmed that a new deal would be forthcoming. And that's tha-nope, says here he's off to New York Cosmos to play alongside Raul. Or, Manuel Pellegrini will take him to City. Not so sure about that one, everyone knows him and Frank Lampard can't play together, not in the same midfield...
Feyenoord defender Terence Kongolo has got a brother called Rodney who plays for City. Louis van Gaal though, well he included Terence in the Dutch squad for this year's World Cup. Both Manchester sides are keen, and it really could go either way.
Napoli still want Mario Balotelli and are confident a bid of £10m will be enough to convince Liverpool to cut their losses, Arsenal still want Julian Draxler (as are Man Utd apparently) and Lassana Diarra, now a free agent and still only 29, will move to either Newcastle or Celtic. Probably Newcastle. French.
