TRANSFER RUMOURS! 28th March

How we laughed, but it looks like Bacary Sagna actually is on his way to Man City, with a fat 3-year contract having been agreed. In other one-last-payday-for-a-veteran-fullback news, Ashley Cole’s off to Liverpool once his Chelsea deal expires in the summer. Oscar and Eden Hazard to PSG too? That won’t be cheap, Torres to Inter might be though. And we could have a bidding war on our hands, with Newcastle just as keen on Romelu Lukaku as Everton. So plenty leaving Stamford Bridge but seemingly just Diego Costa coming in, for £40m. Strange.
Gareth Bale was young once, and when he was he played for Southampton, as a left-back. You know who else is young, at Southampton and left-sided? Luke Shaw. That seems to be the logic behind the rumour linking him with Real Madrid, though the Spaniards' apparent interest in Joe Hart isn’t quite so easy to explain away. Back to the Saints, and they’ll move for Leeds right-back Sam Byram should Callum Chambers decide to do one to either Arsenal or Man Utd in the summer.
With Jan Vertonghen a target for Barcelona, Vlad Chiriches getting the eye from Dortmund and Younes Kaboul out of contract in the summer, Spurs are fast running out of centre-halves. Realising their terrible mistake, they’ll try and re-sign Steven Caulker in the likely event that Cardiff get relegated. Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi is a target too, along with speculation stalwart Yann M'Vila. Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal might have something to say about that one though, while the Gunners are also making noises about how they’d like a piece of Nuremberg striker Josip Drmic.
And finally, Lars Bender. Make it happen Arsene!
