Word is that Mauricio Pochettino has signed a five-year deal to become the next Tottenham manager and will be officially unveiled at White Hart Lane later this evening.
The majority of the following will most likely be in the papers tomorrow morning:
- New Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino looks set to highjack Adam Lallana's move to Liverpool!
- Southampton face a battle to keep hold of Jay Rodriguez with new Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino set to raid his former club and bid £15m for the injured England striker.
- New Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is unsure of Michael Dawson and Kyle Walker and hopes to recruit Southampton pair Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne as part of a new-look defence.
- Arsenal could be about to miss out on Morgan Schneiderlin, with the French midfielder preferring a reunion with his former boss Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs.
And so on...
On now to rumours that haven't been made up on the spot (well not by me anyway).
Chelsea will take PSG's comedy oversized David Luiz cheque to the bank, wait 3-4 working days for it to clear, then bid for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane. And if they've got anything left over moves for Luke Shaw and Ezequiel Lavezzi could be on the cards too.
The last time QPR were in the Premier League they largely came undone as a result of signing over-the-hill stars only interested in one last pay day before retirement. Keen to avoid a repeat of that sorry mess, Harry Redknapp will move for whippersnappers Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole. Throw in Michael Carrick and Jermaine Defoe and you've got yourself a 1999 West Ham reunion. Party!
Everton and the Hammers won't be too pleased to hear that Arsenal are muscling in on their Gareth Barry action. Nor Spurs when they realise Wenger wants a piece of Cardiff's David Marshall too. Ashley Williams could be off to the Emirates as well, for just £3m.
Determined to raid his former club at least once this summer, Brendan Rodgers will move for Michael Vorm instead. Yannick Bolasie of Crystal Palace is on his radar n'all.
Lastly, could whoever's responsible kindly give talk of Steve Sidwell, Jack Colback, Wilfried Zaha, and Tenerife striker Ayoze Perez moving to Newcastle a rest? Not French!
