You have to feel for Simon Mignolet. Granted he's not had the best of starts to the season, but he's not exactly inundated with support from the shower in front of him, is he? Victor Valdes is still being talked about as a potential replacement but much more intriguing (and by intriguing I mean most likely horse shite) is speculation of a move for Joe Hart. City are apparently stalling on a new contract for the England keeper, and Manuel Pellegrini's clearly quite taken with Willy Caballero. That, friends, is all the evidence you need. The Reds are still after Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka too. Remember him from last January? Japes. Inter wouldn't mind either though, and that's only going to complicate matters further.
You know what would have been a really sensible thing for Arsene Wenger to do? Sign Sami Khedira this summer just gone. Sensible in footballing terms, that is, but by waiting til January the Germany midfielder's price will have more than halved to just £11m. And if there's one thing Wenger likes more than trophies (4th place counts), it's balance sheets. Well done him. PSG youngster Adrien Rabiot is being sounded out also.
Kevin Strootman (still injured) will cost Man Utd a cool £60m if they want to press ahead with a January deal. Will he even be fit by then? You'd hope so. And Adnan Januzaj, not getting much in the way of game-time right about now, is a loan target for Fiorentina and Juventus. Pogba...
Newcastle are keen on taking Andy Carroll back and once he's gone the Hammers will reuinte with Jermain Defoe. That's nice.
