They definitely should have made
more of a Veyron-sized fuss, because now
Yaya Toure is suggesting that he might not be playing for Man City come the start of next season. No word as yet on where he might be headed, but it's probably fair to say that anyone who can afford his wages and a shiny new set of wheels will be taking a keen interest.
Speaking of cars,
Ashley Cole almost swerved his off the road that time Arsenal only offered him £55k a week. Something for (deep breath) Inter, Monaco, PSG, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd and maybe even Arsenal again to bear in mind when entering negotiations.
Possibly not United actually. Word is that their move for
Luke Shaw is pretty much done, and the Southampton youngster has even been spotted house hunting in Cheshire. Someone should tell Roy Hodgson, isn't he meant to be in Portugal with the rest of the England squad?
Toni Kroos' arrival at Old Trafford could be imminent, and Louis van Gaal's also keen on PSV striker
Memphis Depay. And
Mario Mandzukic. And Lazio defender
Stefan Radu. Feyenoord's
Stefan de Vrij too. Busy.
Apparently Newcastle are after
Jack Rodwell (as are Everton), Ryan Shawcross (also interesting Man City),
Mohamed Diame (Liverpool, Arsenal) and
Mark Noble. Doesn't sound right, none of them are likely to be cheap, and they're certainly not French.
A couple of freebies in the shape of
Joleon Lescott to Villa and
Jack Colback to Swansea, and at the other end of the scale; Real Madrid and Barca are considering £100m bids for
Luis Suarez and
Eden Hazard could (still) be off to PSG. Just the £50m for him.
