  Christ on a bike! It turns out Southampton actually are after Leandro Damiao, Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that the Saints are in talks with Internacional over a deal for the Brazil international. £18m has been mentioned. The Victor Wanyama deal isn’t quite dead either, and Ever Banega is still a target too. Decent.
  
  Chelsea are still busy. Demba Ba is in talks with Anzhi Makhachala and John Obi Mikel could be on his bike soon too. Coming the other way, it’s Hulk! Unless he goes to Spurs instead…
  
  One for fans of Championship Manager 01/02 now. West Ham and Cardiff are in the hunt for Javier Saviola on a free after his contract at Malaga expired. Why Malaga would let him go is beyond me. He’s 31 now by the way, they grow up so fast.
  
  Aurona Kone isn’t going to Newcastle, as he doesn’t fit in to their ‘blueprint’. Strange really, I was under the impression that French was his first language. Maybe Joe Kinnear was just having trouble pronouncing his name? Who knows.
  
  Maicon, the world’s most expensive 3rd choice right-back, could be on his way out of Man City. Pepe might be on his way in though, which would make Joleon Lescott the world’s most expensive 5th choice centre-half.
  
  Crystal Palace want Carlton Cole and Hull want Charlie Austin, be sure to ‘fire’ them to Premier League safety there chaps. And Wayne Rooney is staying at Man Utd, unless he isn’t of course.

  Maybe it’s the weather. Maybe the guild of Rumour Conjurers were all out on the piss last night and woke up this morning too hung over to come up with anything decent. Or, it could be that with the Wimbledon finals, the last Lions test and the German Grand Prix all happening this weekend, the papers have got some actual news to report. Whatever the reason, it’s a slow day for Transfer Nonsense, real slow.
  
  If by this point you’re still reading, then thanks, but don’t say you weren’t warned.
  
  Here we go. Spurs and Everton want Gerard Deulofeu on loan. If you’ve not heard of him, that's probably because he’s spent the majority of his 19 years knocking about in the Barcelona youth team.
  
  Still after more? Well John Ruddy’s in advanced talks with Chelsea and Norwich might use some of that cash to grab Gary Hooper from Celtic. QPR are keen too, which could be an ideal move for the 25 year-old striker if he’s looking to knock the Champions League football on the head in favour of glamorous away ties at Yeovil and Bournemouth next season.

  You know it’s a dry day when the anti-speculation gets an airing. QPR haven’t received any bids for Loic Remy and Man Utd are yet to get in contact with my Nan’s agent about signing her on a Bosman. She’s a tough tackling central midfielder if anyone’s interested.
  
  Finally, (and this one is actually alright) Xabi Alonso could be on his way to Chelsea after Real Madrid identified Sociedad’s Asier Illarramendi as his replacement. Come on home Xabi, we’ve missed you.
