Luis Suarez has gone nuclear, telling the Guardian and the Telegraph "I gave absolutely everything last season. Now all I want is for Liverpool to honour our agreement. Last year I had the opportunity to move to a big European club and I stayed on the understanding that if we failed to qualify for the Champions League the following season I'd be allowed to go." The transfer request will be on Brendan Rodgers’ desk by the end of the week, not that Liverpool are in any mood to sell for a price of £40m. The small print on that clause could be one for the lawyers, and things could rumble on for a while yet.
He could have done this months ago, we all knew it’d happen eventually… David Moyes has launched a £23.5m bid for (how do you ‘launch a bid’?) for Marouane Fellaini according to the Mirror. Wayne Rooney will seek a move abroad if his switch to Chelsea doesn’t come off. Orderly queue chaps.
Remember that wall at Tottenham’s training ground that didn’t have a picture of Gareth Bale on it? Well now Spurs have removed his image from their Twitter page as well! It’s almost like they don’t want to keep him. If/when he does go to Real, Betis winger Alvaro Vadillo could be the man to replace him.
Martin Jol says there will be more to report on Fulham's bid for Darren Bent by the end of the week and Adel Taarabt has completed his move to the Cottagers on a season-long loan deal.
Hull are keen on Paul Scharner, Wigan on Sunderland’s James McClean and Southampton are demanding £1.8m for Billy Sharp. Celtic, Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley and Bournemouth are all in the hunt.
