TRANSFER NEWS & GOSSIP: Thursday 15th August

Bit late with this today so we can begin with some news of transfers that have actually been completed! Very much on unfamiliar territory here so bare with me.
Crystal Palace have signed veteran keeper Neil Alexander on a free. The ex-Rangers man has agreed a one-year deal.
And that’s kind of it by the looks of things. Not gone brilliantly, has it?
Darren Bent is having a medical at Fulham and Etienne Capoue has passed his at Spurs, neither of those are strictly done yet though…
Let’s hear some bollocks. Real Madrid have dusted off the old crystal ball and seen that Gareth Bale will sign for £81m, but not until just before the transfer window closes. Hardly a shocking revelation, that one. Spurs will spunk all that cash on Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and Will.i.an, if they’ve got time.
Luiz Gustavo looks set to snub Arsenal and sign for Wolfsburg instead. Edin Dzeko won’t be joining the Gunners either, Man City have said he’s not for sale. All that’s left is to launch a final, and ultimately unfruitful £49m bid for Luis Suarez. And there ends another summer of eye-bleeding frustration.
Speaking of wasting time and energy, Man Utd will test Barcelona’s resolve with a £40m bid for Cesc Fabregas. Don’t fret though, Marouane Fellaini’s still available, so much so that Everton are willing to do business, according to the Mirror.
United are also considering a move for Samuel Eto’o, as are Chelsea. Still.
