that one always made me laugh, especially when they were selling their best players every year. it's if they miss out on fourth place it will be interesting how they spin it and what they actually do to fix it.

I actually think Wenger is incapable of operating in today's transfer market. If you want to challenge you need to spend money and the days of winning the league with budget signings like Vieira, Petit and Anelka are long-gone. That's not to say they weren't great players but I think scouting has advanced to a level where those kind of bargains aren't around any more.

yeah it's true, you might be able to find the odd quality player cheap now and again, but not on the scale he did before, that was crazy. i dont know if its stubborness or what.
