Ah man, I hate trying to narrow this down to 5. My top 4 are pretty much nailed on, but after that there's a whole bunch of bands I love on a pretty much equal level... but I'll say:

1. Iron Maiden
2. Megadeth
3. Pearl Jam
4. Jonah Matranga (to include his various projects - Far / New End Original / OneLineDrawing)
5. Neurosis

1. Manic Street Preachers: how many other bands could score a number on song about the Spanish Civil War, play Cuba and, in a 'design For Life', pen what was effectively an alternative Welsh national anthem. Muchos Brit Awards too and the first no 1 of the new millenium:
