THIS GUY TOOK 6 MONTHS AND SPENT $1500 MAKING THE PERFECT SANDWICH
If I told you to make a chicken burger from scratch, you'd probably just run to the supermarket and pick up some chicken mince, onions, buns and get started, right? Wrong!

Minnesota based YouTuber Andy George decided to go one better and took the task of making a chicken burger "from scratch" quite literally.

Andy told a local radio show that he loved making from-scratch meals, but that they weren't really from scratch, so he decided to see how long it would actually take to make a chicken sandwich from scratch - right down to slaughtering the chicken.

The entire process took him six months and cost a whopping $1500 as he had to grow a garden, harvest the wheat and rear a chicken to slaughter. Believe it or not, that wasn't the most extreme part! The most insane part of his journey was realising that he couldn't process his own salt in Minnesota as there were no nearby mines. So what does he do? He boards a fucking flight to the West Coast to collect ocean water so he could boil it and form his own salt. Yup, crazy right?
Making his own vegetable oil didn't come easy either, as he had to grow his own sunflowers. He didn't realise how much pressure he'd need to extract the oil from the seeds and ended up building his own press.

So the question on everybody's lips is "did it actually taste good?", well, not really! Andy said that while his home grown veggies were way better than the shop bought variety, the rest of the sarnie was just a bit wrong. He said "the pickles were pretty good, but they were soggy. I think it was the cheese and mayo that threw off the sandwich the most". Watch the video to see the entire process.

So, there you have it. If you fancy a chicken sarnie, just pop down to Subway or your local Tesco's - It'll be cheaper and way less of a ballache!
