John Boyega, Teyonah Parris and Jamie Foxx are the leads in this Netflix film, that stylistically appears to be a period piece, and due to the choice of The GAP Band's They Dropped a Bomb on me as the song for the trailer, but it also could be a contemporary tale about the three protagonist's uncovering of a conspiratorial governmental program to clone their constituents and the uprising that occurs afterwards.

A hustler, a pimp and a pro stumble upon a conspiracy. Netflix have given us the full trailer for one of my most anticipated films of the year. Boyega, Parris and Foxx look like they know what type of film they're in and they're enjoying every second of it. I love the costume design and the voice Foxx is using is reminiscent of Katt Williams' A Pimp Named Slickback on The Boondocks, which is a really cool source of inspiration.

What a directorial debut by Taylor. This film blends so many genres together seamlessly. It's like a period piece that takes place during a contemporary time, with futuristic elements. The on screen chemistry between Foxx, Boyega and Paris is effortless. There must be so many out takes of them all ad-libbing various scenes that didn't make the cut, that I hope Netflix will will one day release. Not only is it a very funny film, it's also really smart too.
