First off, unless they're attaching rockets to an actual hedgehog and painting it blue; it's not really live action, is it? CGI is just a different shade of animation, lads. Soz.
Second, Sonic's got fur. It's been gelled up in to spikes, but is this classically hedgehog? I think it's more a cat-with-mohican vibe. So that's no good either.

Other things we know: It's from the same producers as The Fast and the Furious (speed and that, makes sense), Dr Robotnik is either going to played or voiced by Jim Carrey (see previous 'live action' chat for the issues here) and it's due out next summer.

Loved Sonic games as a kid, apparently the current tv show is pretty good but is definitely aimed at kids.
I usually hate live action movies of games or cartoons so I am actually pretty glad they don't have a clue what live action is. Although like you I don't think he should be furry, guess we wait and see what the final picture looks like -

There's a good voice cast what with Ben Schwartz as and Sonic and Jim Carrey as Dr.Robotnic. Maybe it'll go down the Detective Pikachu route and have live action mixed with cgi but either way, Sonic looks a bit gash doesn't he. -

Haha, I love that picture. In all honesty I don't think anyone would be surprised at this point if that actually turned out to be real. Setting expectations to below zero for this and still expecting disappointment -

as much as i love the all the old school sonic games from sega mega drive, i dont think ill be looking forward to seeing this though, i think ill leave this one for the kids but could be good u never know -

Damn, people are proper slating the trailer. The Guardian called it a “200mph slap in the face” but those miserable twats wouldn’t know a good time of it bit them on the dick. I personally think it looks pretty fun. Apparently people are pissed off that Sonic doesn’t do a loop-the-loop and that he has human teeth. I must admit that one is kinda weird. I do think the ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ soundtrack was a bit misplaced but I’m willing to overlook that because I genuinely think the movie looks fun. It feels like people expect way too much from a cartoon fucking hedgehog.
