Couple of deals already done. Chelsea have signed 18 year-old Burkina Faso midfielder
Bertrand Traore on a free and West Ham have snapped
Jaanai Gordon, a striker from Peterborough. He's 18 too, one for the future or straight in to the side? The Hammers are also close to signing
John Heitinga from Everton.
Pretty much just rumours other than that. Plenty of em though...
Berbatov to Arsenal for £2m is probably the pick of the bunch, imagine that! Fulham, Spurs and United all pissed off in one fell swoop. Vague mentions of
Loic Remy too, nothing about how it couldn't happen until the summer though. Wenger's also after
Javier Hernandez, presumably leaving United double-pissed.
Not that David Moyes isn't looking to get busy himself. Still after a left-back and
Luke Shaw is the latest to be linked, £20m apparently, seems a bit low. If not him,
Leighton Baines (standard) for £16m. The midfield, meanwhile, could be strengthened by
Arturo Vidal of Juventus. Or maybe even
Ravel Morrison. Word is he's got a £10m release in his West Ham contract. Can't see him going back to Old Trafford personally but a Demba Ba-style clause saga looks likely.
If you're shit in England but then go to Scotland and do pretty well, are you still shit? Hull are hoping to find out with a move for Celtic's
Georgios Samaras who's in to the last 6 months of his contract.
Matthew Etherington and
Joe Ledley pumping it in to the big men (
Peter Crouch and
Batefimbi Gomis). Tony Pulis's Crystal Palace targets obviously. Stoke MkII.
Chelsea and Arsenal are going to battle it out for Atletico striker
Diego Costa (him with the £35m release clause) and the Blues will also go man-o-man with Liverpool over
Xabi Alonso. Woof!
A big old list of players naffing off...
Erik Lamela to Atletico or Inter on loan,
Joleon Lescott to Besiktas,
Ashley Cole to Real Madrid and
Edin Dzeko to Valencia.
Oh, Spurs want
Shane Long. Which would be brilliant.
