It’s almost as though the papers didn’t notice Joe Hart got dropped. It’s been 6 days now since he didn’t play against Norwich and the best they can do is half-heartedly suggest links with Fraser Forster and Galatasaray’s Fernando Musler (£25m if you’re asking). Begovic? Valdes? Casillas? Not a sausage. It’s disappointing.
That’s not to say City aren’t ready to drop another massive wad of cash, they’re just looking elsewhere apparently. Sami Khedira has been tipped for a £30m summer move and they’ll duke it out with Man Utd for Porto’s defensive-double-act Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi. £65m the pair.
United have been linked with a couple of left backs too, and they’re not even Leighton Baines and Luke Shaw. They are in fact Faouzi Ghoulam from St Etienne and Alberto Moreno of Sevilla. Exotic. Oh no, hang on, £7m plus Wilfried Zaha in exchange for Baines. There we go. They won’t be signing Robert Lewandowski though, and you’d imagine that’s the last we’ll hear of him…
Sergi Roberto, Yohan Cabaye, Diego Capel and Alexandre Pato vs Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs. All three want all four, and it could get messy. Limbs everywhere, cartoon violence dust clouds and the like… Fabio Coentrao’s not getting involved in all that though, he’ll just sign with Spurs. Minimum fuss.
Demba Ba is a wanted man. Not by Chelsea obviously, Valencia and West Ham. I wonder who he’ll pick?
Is Rafa Benitez ready to raid his former clubs for Lucas and Cesar Azpilicueta? Or is it just lazy journalism?
Credit where it’s due though, Tom Ince to Ajax or Inter and Saido Berahino to Monaco may be a lot of things, but lazy isn’t one of them.
