  Good news everyone, this week’s rumour round-up is a diverse one. There’ll be news on small-time minnows such as Everton, West Brom and Newcastle later, but lets start with the big boys.
  
  Depending on who you believe, the Man Utd board will hand David Moyes somewhere between £50m and £100m to spend in the January transfer window. It turns out the squad that walked the league last season are no longer any good, and need Ezequiel Garay, Ander Herrera and Barcelona youngster Sergi Roberto (is that the sound of a barrel being scraped after they missed out on Fabregas and Thiago?) to come rescue them. Leighton Baines too.
  
  Javier Pastore’s really good and plays for PSG. They don’t need to sell, probably don’t want to either. Minor details, Liverpool, AC Milan, Chelsea and Arsenal are interested. Great news for fans of the London clubs there given their chronic shortage of attacking midfielders.
  
  Another midfielder tipped to roll up at Stamford Bridge is Marseille’s Gianelli Imbula. He’s only 21 though so they can just send him straight out on loan or something. Kevin de Bruyne could be getting lent as well after he wasn’t picked for a game.
  
  Atletico Madrid. Coming over here, taking our players (Asmir Begovic and Phillippe Coutinho). It’s not on.
  
  Spurs are still trying to sign everyone. Talk now is of Zenit full-back Domenico Criscito and Leyton Orient winger Moses Odubajo. Bloody hell Spurs, save some players for everyone else yeah…
  
  Finally, Everton want Valencia winger Andres Guardado, it’ll only cost West Brom £1.7m to make Morgan Amalfitano’s loan move permanent (you’d imagine they would) and Newcastle are looking to double their quota of Dutch goalkeepers by bidding £7m for PSV’s Joreon Zote.
  
  What did everyone think of that last paragraph? Too obscure?

  I imagine that the utd board will be working hard on signings already so I believe there will be money spent whether I agree doing that in January is good or no,t I reserve my judgement. More concerning is the talk of selling kagawa? He needs a run. I think he is quality.

  Vidic and Evra were January weren't they? Though it wasn't until the season after that they were settled and on top of their games... They need a few to come in and make an instant impact, not easy.
  
  Agree with you on Kagawa, Zaha needs an opportunity too. Seems like Moyes is sticking with the established names though, playing Giggs far too much in my opinion.

  Yeah I think he is expecting far too much from Giggs. I think appeasing Rooney is costing Kagawa but both could play with a reshuffle of formation. I agree Zaha should be given a chance as Valencia has not done as well as previously. U are right about vidic and evra but that is the only good from January sales is to get players that will eventually come good. Immediate impact players are a much harder proposition then. Price is always higher and cannot guarantee they will settle straight away.

  i don't have a problem with signing players in january as long as they are quality and they don't have to be big names. i'd be worried if a club wants to sell a big name in january, usually means they are past it.

  I think Moyes and the Utd board need to come up with a strategy for the next two transfer windows, they need some real quality in midfield especially on the right and left as neither Valencia, Young or Nani are up to it now

  young and nani really aren't up to it, but they just gave nani a new contract so i guess he is staying. i think valencia is just out of form like a few of the other players.
