Liverpool want to be careful with all this talk of a summer move for Karim Benzema if they qualify for the Champions League. One thing leads to another and before you know it he's a part-ex for Luis Suarez. They're after Bacary Sagna too, as are Man City, Chelsea and Inter, apparently.
Jose Mourinho's looking at John Obi Mikel alternatives (probably wise), one of them being Marseille midfielder Gianelli Imbula. There's talk of him ditching Fernando Torres in favour of Mario Mandzukic too.
And now, a list of players who'd do well to use Wayne Rooney's new deal as a starting point in any contract negotiations with Man Utd: Toni Kroos, Ilkay Gundogan, William Carvalho, Rafa Alcantara, Eliaquim Mangala, Luke Shaw and the new Paul Scholes (he's ginger) Harrison Reed.
If Julian Draxler ends up Bayern Munich then Arsenal will try and sign Loic Remy instead. The European champions are also keen on Mathieu Debuchy, so basically it's bad news all round for Newcastle.
Besiktas' Manchester scout sounds like an excitable chap, they're after Joleon Lescott and Shinji Kagawa. That spot on the City bench could be filled by Martin Skrtel and Joe Allen might be on his way out of Anfield too. To Everton?
