  I don’t know why anyone would want to sign Jared Leto up for a lead role in a superhero movie after the shit-show that was Suicide Squad but all I can say is, he must give one hell of a blowjob! Leto was cast as the lead in Spider-Man spinoff Morbius and tbf, it doesn’t look too bad.

  Quote:Despite his initial status as one of Spider-Man’s horror-based rogues, he went on to become a brooding and gritty, albeit heroic and tragically flawed antihero in his own series and other titles.
  
  His true identity was former award-winning biochemist named Michael Morbius imbued with pseudo-vampiric superhuman abilities and physical traits stemming from a failed biochemical experiment which was intended to cure his rare blood disorder, as opposed to supernatural means.
  
  The rest of his appearances feature his struggles with his non-human vampiric persona, his insatiable lust for human blood and his subsequent efforts to cure his horrific condition, along with his eventual stint as a brutal and nightmarish vigilante.

  Looks decent right? The movie also stars Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Tyrese Gibson, Jared Harris and Michael Keaton. The film is due to hit cinemas in July 2020!

  This doesn't look like it's going to be any good at all, but given the popularity of Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, then it wouldn't surprise me if Morbius was a commercial and critical success. It looks like Sony are not only trying to create their own cinematic universe with the characters associated with Spider-man, but due to the post-credit scene in Venom: Let There Be Carnage and the appearance of Michael Keaton in the first trailer for Morbius, it looks like Sony are trying their best to tie their films into the Marvel Cinematic Universe too.

  Instead of calling this film Morbius, they should've called it... More B. S.
  
  Bah dum tsk *the sound of crickets* tumbleweeds roll past. OK, I'll get my coat LOL. But seriously though I don't know why Sony are persisting with trying to turn Spider-Man villains into anti-heroes, and why audiences seem to enjoy this approach. I would've preferred to have seen them make the rumoured Black Cat and Silver Sable film. But then again Joker was a commercial and critical success, so I guess you can't blame Sony for jumping on the dark and gritty cash cow. They've already announced that Aaron Taylor Johnson is due to play Kraven the Hunter in a solo film too.

  Morbius, Jared Leto’s Spider-Man spin-off, has  just opened to absolutely abysmal reviews and an even worse Rotten Tomatoes score. While critics were hopeful that director Daniel Espinosa would pull it out the bag, early reviews suggest the film is a massive floppy titty. It’s so gash that critics have scored it just 20% on Rotten Tomatoes.
