  Is there any Simpsons fans on here, i know there are a few on here who probably don't, but i still think that the simpsons is a very good program.
  Anyone else a fan?

  i still watch it now and then if i can catch it, i find the newer episodes not as good as the older ones, but still pretty decent on the whole

  the old episodes yes, but the new ones i'm not a fan of. i'll watch them if they're on and nothing else is but i don't find it as funny anymore and it just feels out of date to me because they try to be current like south park is but the difference is south park episodes are written and created in the week before they air and the simpsons takes months and months to make so when they try to be current it just ends up being really out of date, like the latest episode had jokes about facebook lol

  I still think that some of the newer episodes are just as funny as the older ones, and i don't really notice the jokes being out of date and even when i do it's only like when occasionally on south park where it refers to something only really known in america, no show can get every joke spot on everytime.

  one of the greatest shows in television history, extremely funny and very creative, and its still going even people who watch it now love it, so well done to the creator of the simpsons

  i'm officially done with the simpsons, just watched the newest episode and there's no other way to describe it than retarded. it was a story about moe's apparently magical talking bar rag and then they tacked on some seriously heavy handed story about friendship as well. i can honestly say there wasn't a single moment in it that even made me smile let alone laugh.
  
  and the parts that were meant to be funny just made no sense whatsoever, like a scene were apparently moe is the son of a yeti and some strange thing about a rat coughing up some cheese and at the very start homer just starts dancing on the ceiling for absolutely no reason.
  
  so as i said i'm not watching it anymore, unless it's one of the old episodes as the new ones are just getting worse and worse

  I do still wathch the simpsons but I am finding that as I grow up, I don't think I find it as funny. I think that maybe because while it used to push some boundaries, and in some respects still does, the work of Seth Macfarlane (Family Guy, American Dad, Cleavland Show, is pushing beyond that and making the Simpson's humor too tame.

  Yeah i've not seen that particular episode so i can't comment on that one, but generally i still think The Simpsons is funny, admittedly it isn't as funny as it used to be in certain episodes but overall most of them are still funny i think.

  i feel fairly certain that when you see that episode jlf, that you wont find it funny either, i just got the feeling through the whole episode that they were trying to be random and strange like family guy etc.. with the little cut aways, except the thing they forgot was all the seth cut aways might be really strange but they're funny as well, the ones in that simpsons episode were just strange. i'm also getting seriously bored of the increasing number of episodes they seem to be doing when it's mainly about "the simpsons" as characters from a different time period
