Six months prior to it's release in cinemas, Marvel Studios have given us a teaser trailer for The Marvels. Carol is back after her billion dollar grossing debut but this time she's bringing her BFF Maria's daughter Monica Rambeau, who now has powers after appearing in Wandavision, and the world's biggest Captain Marvel fan Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel. The comedic tone feels similar to classic buddy cop films like Rush Hour. Iman Vellani might be the best casting choice ever in a comic book film, in terms of the person being exactly like the character. I really hope she has a lengthy and successful acting career. Also the use of Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys is absolutely perfect.

I wasn’t even able to make it through the trailer for this one. Felt like an average budget TV show.

Nia Da Costa follows on from directing the Candyman remake with a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Larsson, Paris and Vellani's chemistry together is effortless. They all work so well off of each other whilst also taking their character's on individually emotional arcs. The visual creativity of the action scenes work so well given the various changes of location and situations. The Khan family and Fury give this film it's trademark Marvel levity. The final scene pairs my two favourite new characters from Phase four and the only post-credits scene further sets up the multiverse, whilst also giving us a hint to the beginning of Phase seven.

Not sure why it took them so long to do this one when Tiktok has been semi ragging on this movie since it’s cinema release. Maybe the likes of official channels like Screen Junkies aren’t allowed to the properties until they are sold on streaming now.
