  I absolutely love Nathalie Emmanuel and I think she's amazing. This looks like it has the potential to be the biggest horror film of the year. The trailer does give away a lot of the first and second act plot points, but hopefully there are a few twists and turns in the third act that haven't been revealed yet.

  I watched the trailer for this yesterday and couldn’t help but struggle with just how close it was to the amazing ‘Ready or Not’ with Samara Weaving. I know this one is vampires and not a literal cursed family but that makes it more of a struggle because vampires done badly are always quite a hard watch.

  I haven't watched Ready or Not, but everything I've heard about it has been positive. So I'll add it to my humongous list of films and TV shows that I need to watch. You raise a good point about vampires in films, hopefully the ones in The Invitation are as cool as the ones in the first two Wesley Snipes Blade films.

  I can’t recommend ready or not highly enough. If you fancy a Samara Weaving double bill I watch this paired with The Babysitter. Got time for a Weaving triple bill? Then it’s The Baby Sitter, Mayhem then Ready or Not to cap it off.

  It wasn't as good as I hoped it could've been, but it was still fairly decent. Emmanuel was great, but the screenplay and tone could've been a little bit better. The first act sets up the world relatively well, the second act gets stuck slightly trying to be a romantic thriller instead of going more towards a gothic type of horror. The third act rounds off the film fairly well. Pertwee is the best supporting actor in the film, followed by Corneliussen and Boden. Doherty is decent as the male lead. I would've liked to have seen a bit more of Taylor and her friendship with Emmanuel.
