THE HIP HOP TRANSFER RUMOURS

was apparently just the start. It turns out ol' Drizzy is an ambassador for his hometown MLS club Toronto FC, and it says here that he's persuaded Jermain Defoe to join them in January. He'll loan him back to Spurs until the new MLS season starts in March though, which is good of him. The rapper-agent, it was inevitable really.
Every transfer window needs a saga or five, and with January one only a couple of weeks away it's probably safe to start speculating what names will be on every paper's lips, every day. Now, we all know that the BIG names don't tend to move mid-season, so there'll be none of your Luis Suarez chat here, none of your Wayne Rooney trash talk...
We're going to have to manage our expectations.
1. Koke
The Atletico Madrid midfielder's been linked with Man Utd for a while now. The fact he's still in the Champions League with his current club works against him (such players are notoriously hard to prise away) but with rumours suggesting that a Madrid loan move for anyone of Kevin de Bruyne, Juan Mata or Erik Lamela will pave the way for his exit, this one's just about convoluted enough to develop in to something wholly tiresome.
2. Konstantinos Mitroglou
Also still in the Champions League, but for Olympiakos, and we all know skint the Greeks are... Arsenal and Liverpool could well be in for a month of battling each other, going head to head, duelling, etc.
3. Fredy Guarin
£10m or £15m? Man Utd or Chelsea? Maybe he'll just stay at Inter? A few questions to get you started there. It really is just the start.
4. Vincent Kompany
Yes Monaco are loaded, but City aren't short of a bob or two either. Seems unlikely, but this one's been around so long it's hardly about to disappear right when it could actually happen.
5. Ilkay Gundogan
Barcelona, Arsenal and Man Utd have already been linked. Expect talk of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Bayern Munich too, repeatedly, in the coming weeks.
United also like the look of Porto left-back Alex Sandro. No mention of Leighton Baines lately, maybe he doesn't fancy dropping down the table? Chelsea, meanwhile, are after Luke Shaw. £20m apparently. They both want Xabi Alonso and Nemanja Matic too.
Arsenal will duke it out with Man City for Iker Casillas, and Spurs for Alexandre Pato. They'll have a clear run at Diego Costa by the looks of it though, that can't be right.
Liverpool will bring in Basel's Mohamed Salah for £12m, and pack Daniel Agger off to Rafa Benitez's Napoli on loan, while Hull are heading to the North East hoping to come back with Shola Ameobi and Seb Larsson.
Diego Milito and Obafemi Martins. Add them to your list of strikers West Ham are desperate to sign.
Cheers.
