The first teaser trailer for the upcoming adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s award-winning 1985 dystopian sci-fi novel The Handmaid’s Tale and it looks amazing.

The 10-episode series, stars Elisabeth Moss as the role of Offred and Joseph Fiennes as Commander Fred Waterford, the powerful high-ranking official and founding father of Gilead (a totalitarian society formerly part of the U.S.) who is also the head of the household where Offred is a Handmaid.

The teaser trailer doesn't give too much away but it does show us that Offred is basically forced into slavery after being taken.

We also get to see a bit of what Offred's life was like before...

Alexis Bledel plays a character called Ofglen

It's an interesting story, shame they went and beat HULU to the punch in 1990.
