  After rumours of it being in development for years, Warner Brothers have finally released a trailer for the John Wick spin-off The Continental. The plot appears to center around a young Winston and how he eventually became the manager of The Continental in New York. Neither Stahelski or Leitch from the first John Wick film will be directing these three ninety minute episodes, those reigns have been passed on to Albert Hughes and Charlotte Brandstrom. Derek Kolstad will not be writing it either, like he did the first film, the showrunners will be Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward. The actors chosen to take on the roles portrayed by Ian McShane and Lance Reddick in the films are Colin Woodall and Ayomide Adegun. The only major red flag in the casting is the inclusion of famous anti-semite Mel Gibson.

  Doing a prequel to the John Wick films is a tough task but based on this trailer, it looks like they might nail it. The story appears to focus on Winston's rise to becoming the proprietor of The Continental in the seventies. So the fashion and music looks and sounds perfect already. But the thing everyone loves about the world of John Wick is the action and despite it being on a TV budget the fight choreography looks just as good as the films and it's filmed just as creatively.

  Episode one
  A major robbery takes place during a New Year's Eve party at The Continental and the High Table want what was taken back. Winston gets caught in the middle of a series of unfortunate events and has to find his way out of it, with the help of a few friends.

  Episode two
  We get a look into the past about Winston and Frankie work for Cormac, and also Frankie's relationship with Yen. In the present Winston starts to form alliances in order to reach his objective. The high table sends the adjudicator to visit Cormac and give him a message. Charon is paid a visit by someone unsuspecting.

  Episode three - series finale
  Winston forms his alliances in order to resolve his objective. Cormac takes measures to regain something important. Charon's alligencies are tested to their limits. Hansel and Gretel go to work on what they love to do best.
  
  Living up to the John Wick films was always a tough task and this almost does it. The action is visceral and frantic. The period setting is really nice and it's accompanied by a fitting soundtrack.
