Blumhouse are pretty good for leading the way when it comes to mainstream Hollywood horror and their latest movie The Black Phone is just in time for Halloween. It sees Ethan Hawke play a rare flip side of the coin as a menacing and possibly supernatural child snatcher. I had to turn the trailer off at about two thirds of the way as it started to feel like I was seeing the whole film which means either I was or this film has loads more to unpack. It looks like a must watch for sure.

Ethan Hawke has always been a great actor as the good guy. With his recent performances in Moon Knight and now this trailer, he really is outstanding as a bad guy too. The tone of this is slightly reminiscent of the early Saw films mixed with a bit of IT. I'm looking forward to watching this.
