I gave the sequel a chance before I saw your reply. I can understand why you bowed out early, it wasn't as good as the first one. Some of the character's motivations were a bit strange, and the US teen horror archetypes (e.g. Robbie Amell's jock, Bella Thorne's cheerleader etc) from the first film became a bit stale the second time round. The various death scenes were pretty cool but the added lore to the whole ***** got stretched a bit too thin. Jenna Ortega was OK and I think she'll be really good in the new Addams family Netflix TV show. I checked the credits and McG directed and Duffield wrote the first one, but on the sequel McG directed it and also wrote it alongside three other writers that weren't Duffield, so that's probably the sequel wasn't as good.
