Are England good enough to beat Australia in this years Ashes series?

I think England can do it.  Australia are the favourites, but I think it will be very close this time.  Possibly even being decided in the final Test.

Cook, Root and Bell to score the bulk of the runs.  Stokes to cause problems with both bat and ball.

Hoping for the likes of Lyth and Ballance to do well.

And, there's Anderson and Broad.  Both have to perform with the ball.

The Aussies have the likes of Warner, Smith and Clarke as their run machines.

If England manage to stave off the threat of the Aussie attack, in particular Mitchell Johnson, plus deliver with both bat and ball, they have a good chance of regaining the Ashes.

    Can't wait!

Lets hope England do beat Australia in the Ashes otherwise we wont hear the end of it for a loooong time ^^
England do seem a bit better recently against New Zealand so maybe we have more of a chance than i think. But we all know what England are like when it comes to sports.. iffy!
Cook was getting so much stick not so long ago but recently he has had a bit of joy and hopefully it continues!
James Anderson and Stuart Broad with the ball should hurt Australia too!

I think this could be a very close series, not been impressed with the attitude of the Aussies in the build up to the series and think they are trying to put too much stead on their sledging and aggression. It's vital, however, for England to get off to a good start and win or have a confidence boosting draw in Cardiff

Haddins out, watsons an lbw machine, the aussies are looking pretty shaky and momentum definetly with england right now, Need to get this lords test sorted and won this thursday and i reckon itll be pretty hard for the aussies to bounce back if the england team have form, mark woods doing solid too

The only way australia can restore it and win this series is if their batting gets sorted out, because there bowling will get wickets if theres something in it on the pitch, Clarke and warner are due some runs and maybe mitchell marsh may play the next game so we'll see what happens with the aussies comeback

SO a lots happened since my last post , and looks like the aussies did have a bloody good comeback and there two changes worked out perfectly for em , mitch marsh can take wickets and pat nevills got runs, bairstow in for ballance was definetly the only possible swap , maybe chuck root or moeen ali in , wouldve been nice to see rashid but oh well
