  I was at that game with a group of customers we had eaten in the Hotel across the road and then walked to the game .beckham had taken a number of free kicks and had failed to even generate a save. So I said why not let some one else take this one he looks like he is never going to score. Then this happened and as usual I show that I know nothing about football.

  I was thinking about that goal the other day in a debate about whether England should play home matches all over the country. Would there have been that kind of mix of noise and atmosphere at the new Wembley? I'm not so sure!

  Of course there would have. Why would the atmosphere be any different at a different stadium?

  I've always found the club grounds to be a better atmosphere than Wembley. The fans arenearer the action plus I thought there was a more partisan atmosphere at the club grounds and less of the prawn sandwich brigade that you find at Wembley

  Wembley has held two Champions League finals, both of which had fine atmosphere's. The issue is not the stadium it's the fans and also the game in question. The atmosphere is always going to be naff in a near pointless game with San Marino, England v Germany in the Euro final however? It'll be top no matter where it is.
