Before it was WWE, it was WWF, which is around the same time Ted DiBiase AKA The Million Dollar Man was at the top of his game. The dude was unstoppable in his heyday and possibly one of the highest paid wrestlers ever. Pity he couldn’t have been wiser with his money or he might not have felt the need to embezzle $2.1 million of charity funds. I guess he needs to change his name to the 2 Million Dollar Man!
Here’s the story via the New York Post:
Quote:A nonprofit religious organisation founded by former wrestler Ted DiBiase - whose son, Brett, was indicted last week for allegedly embezzling charity funds - reportedly received more than $2.1 million in welfare from the state of Mississippi, according to the Clarion-Ledger.
DiBiase became a preacher after retiring from the ring and formed the Heart of David Ministries. Brett was hired as a senior official at the Mississippi Department of Human Services by former director John Davis, among the six people indicted in an alleged scheme that stole more than $4.15 million in welfare funds. DiBiase’s group received as much as $900,000 one year.
Brett, also a former wrestler, was given a $95,000 salary despite no clear qualifications for the position, and reportedly used $48,000 on rehab for his drug addiction.
The state of Mississippi denied more than 98 percent of individual welfare applicants, while giving more than $2 million to DiBiase’s foundation.
Yikes. Not cool dude. It does sound like the son is the bad egg in this situation but maybe don’t hire your drug-addicted son to be in charge of milions of dollars. -

First appearance of The Undertaker was as an asset of Ted DiBiase who allegedly bought him to cause pain and suffering to DiBiase's opponents. So Virgil and The Undertaker as enforcers wasn't a bad thing for The Million Dollar Man.
