Reinforcements were definitely needed for Swansea to be able to compete in Europe as well as domestically this season, and they’ll be pleased with their summer business. Bony and Shelvey in particular should do a job and getting de Guzman back on loan was a masterstroke. They’ve managed to keep hold of their better players, and the manager has stayed put too. Good times.
I still think the Europa League will have an impact, and can see them just dropping out of the top ten this year. A finish somewhere around 11th and a run in Europe would still constitute a good campaign though.
