  'Is This The Most Depressing Club In Football?' asks the title of this Copa90 clip.
  
  Well, they finished dead in the Premier League under David Moyes last season, his successor Simon Grayson has already been given the boot and with the club currently bottom of the Championship there's a very real threat of consecutive relegations.
  
  Also, they haven't won at home for near on a year.

  Things may look bad at the moment but looking on the bright side, things can only get better. What makes it far worse is that Newcastle are doing really well in the Premiership since they swapped places. Newcastle fans are having the times of their lives in contrast in terms of their local rivalry . They haven't had such good times on Tyneside since the days of Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.

  Following their relegation to League One, it looks as if Sunderland are stuck with Jack Rodwell, who seemingly had no 'wage cut' clause, in his contract, he's earning £70K a week, I understand, & is contracted to the summer of 2019
  
  Now if my maths is right, Sunderland are looking at having to pay him between £3.5-£4 Million, in wages, unless they can reach an agreement, to either sell him this summer, or try to buy out the remainder of his contract, at a knockdown price

  Oh dear. How sad. Never mind. The Mackems have some strange idea that they are actually a big club. They are not. Awesome stadium but not up to the job on the pitch. Their wage bill could prove fatal.

  Remember the documentary about Man City that was on Amazon Prime a while back?  The one that gave us a behind-the-rarefied-scenes glimpse of a club taking their first steps towards what will surely become an actual football dynasty?  Pep and the lads and a league and League Cup double, countless records broken along the way?
  
  Well this is nothing like that. 
  
  Sunderland 2017/18.  Pre-takeover.  Back when they were still the undisputed Worst Run Club In Football™.  A season that began with the faint hope of a swift return to the Premier League under Simon Grayson, but ended instead with a Chris Coleman-inspired relegation to League One.  That's our source material.

  Fair play to the supporters for not being completely fucking depressed about the whole situation though. Got to laugh haven't you? What's the alternative?

  Another North East club with delusions of grandeur. Awesome stadium but that is about it.
