As a supporter you're never going to want to see your team go down, but you do have to wonder if all those years just about surviving in the Premier League did more harm than good.
If they'd been relegated the first season they were shit (5 years ago or whatever, maybe more) they'd have had a few decent players to cash in, been able to spend that money rebuilding and would have most likely bounced back before too long. Instead the apathy grew, more and more money was wasted on short term fix managers and their useless signings; then when they finally did drop all that was left was a losing mentality and a mountain of debt.
Even the owner can't be arsed any more. It's a right mess.
