Two types of people in this world. Those who glumly accept their fate; and those who, when faced with a challenge, utilise a little blue-sky thinking in an attempt to improve their lot.
An example: You're not getting much action on Tinder. You're 69, and suspect your age is putting people off. Do you;
a) sack it off, book some coach tours and focus on the widow market? Or;
b) start court proceedingsin an effort to legally knock 20 years off your age?
Dutch pensioner Emile Ratelband chose the latter option.
"You can change your name. You can change your gender. Why not your age?" he told Dutch paper De Telegraaf.
"When I'm 69, I am limited. If I'm 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different car. I can take up more work. When I'm on Tinder and it says I'm 69, I don't get an answer. When I'm 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position," he added.
Oh yeah, Emile's feeling himself. He also claims to have body of a 45-year-old, and describes himself as a "young god".
But then, you would need a certain level of confidence to pull this kind of shit, wouldn't you?
A ruling is expected within four weeks, and he says he'll even renounce his pension it goes in his favour. Real dedication.
