Just finished watching the first three for the first time. Chronologically, released, new hope, empire strikes back and return of the jedi. Yeah they were good like, but does anyone else think Why are they so bloody massive? I'm sure this will anger a few heads, but I'm not trying to, just trying to figure out why they ended up being so big?

They might be massive because back when they were first released, there wasnt anything exactly like it around. And it might play with the fantasy thing in a person minds. Like also how many people would watch Superman and have fantasies about being Superman.. flying around, laser eyes.. so on. Thats just an example :P
Plus Star Wars was probably revolutionary with regards to film.. i might be wrong but im only trying to help answer your question to the best of my ability. Hope this helps anyway :P
Oh one last thing.. they might be massive because theyre actually proper decent films and the crowd (majority) thinks so too :P

Kinda late to the party having only just watched star wars for the first time, eh, orionmetus.Good that you got round to it though. Jose Mourinho summed it up properly. The impact of the early films was so massive presumably because they were groundbreaking / revolutionary. If the series were to only commence nowadays, would it have the same impact /following..who knows. Presumably you are gonna crack on with the other 3 fillms next?

I totally retract my statement haha. I agree with you lads, I didn't really account for all that. The whole story together is pretty class. In the end I really enjoyed the whole lot, moreso the first three. I'm actually looking forward to the new one now!

Im also looking forward to the new one as well. Im not however looking forward to when its being released. If memory serves (although i could be wrong), the film's out 1 week before christmas. Personally, at that time of year im way too bust to even consider going to the cinema (too busy prepping christmas and making with the constant partying). As such, going after christmas is the last thing on my mind as well. Will definatly check it out on its home release though.

what do mean by star wars being bloody massive ? Yeah like the first six movies don't mind 7 and 9 but the last jedi not a fan, 7 felt was a copy of a new hope with a little some new elements to it but I liked it and 9 felt a mix the love story kinda didn't get it and the effect were great brought so good moments never better original movies.
