1. "I think there is a world market for maybe five computers".

Said by: IBM President Thomas Watson in 1943 which of course turned out to be very inaccurate. IBM now makes $100bn selling computer hardware and software.

2. "I predict the internet will soon go spectacularly supernova an in 1996 catastrophically collapse".

Said by: Robert Metcalfe who was the founder of 3Com in 1995 and funnily enough he said if his prediction was wrong he would "eat his words". He did by using a food processor to liquefy a copy of his article and drank it.

3. "Two years from now, spam will be solved".

Said by: Bill Gates founder of Microsoft in 2004 and we can see this is not true.

4. "Television won't be able to hold on to any market it captures after the first six months. People will soon get tired of staring at a plywood box every night."

Said by: Darryl Zanuck from 20th Century Fox in 1946 yet look at TV these days.

5. "There is practically no chance communications space satellites will be used to provide better telephone, telegraph, television or radio service inside the United States".

Said by: T. Craven who was the FCC Commissioner in 1961 and now it does all of the above and more.

6. "Apple is already dead."

Said by: Nathan Myhrvold who was the former CEO of Microsoft and look at it today.
