Sing Street

Didnt know a great deal about 'Sing Street' before downloading and watching it the other day. Only knew it was set during the 80's and had received a ton of praise from the critics. Upon reading a bit more about the film i decided to take the plunge..and boy, am i glad i did. Has anyone else seen the film? What did you think. Directed by John Carney and starring a cast of relative unknowns (as far as i know) with the exception of Aiden Gillen aka Little Finger from Game of Thrones. The film has an incredibly simple premise, boy fancies girl, girls pretty dissinterested so boy forms a band. For me, this was not only the best feel good film of the year but of recent memory. Swear i had to try and fight the corners of my mouth turning up trying to stop myself smiling..and that basically never happens. A fantafstic film with fantastic performances from the entire cast and for fans of 80's music, not only several 80's classic tunes but also several 80's style tunes written specifically for the film. Again, my faourite feel good film of recent memory and easily one of my favourite films of the year. Highly recomended (of course if you cant stand 80's music it will probably be torture but, each to their own, personally i loved it).
