RE: Silent Night

Last year Violent Night became one of my favourite Christmas films of all time. And now Silent night has joined that list. OK technically it falls into the category of films set during Christmas, rather than ones that are about Christmas. But it's still a Christmas film in my books. Woo is the director that other directors wish they were as good as. His use of tone, pace and framing take us on this brutally emotional journey of revenge. Kinnerman's task of delivering a performance with no dialogue at all, is no easy feat and he passes the test with flying colours, due to his brilliant use of just his facial expressions and body language. This film is phenomenal.
