SHELVEY HEADING FOR SWANSEA

The Swans have outbid Crystal Palace and hope to tie up a £6m deal for the England international soon. Shelvey has had a frustrating time at Liverpool, making only 17 league starts since joining from Charlton back in 2010. Now 21, the midfielder obviously feels he needs to look elsewhere for regular first team football.
It’s been a busy week for Swansea as they prepare for their Europa League campaign next season. Jonathan de Guzman has re-signed on another one-year loan deal and a trio of Spaniards have arrived in the shape of Alejandro Pozuelo, Jose Canas and Jordi Amat.
With the club also linked with the likes of Wilfried Bony, Bafetimbi Gomis and Belgian winger Nacer Chadli, they’re obviously keen to make sure they’ve got enough depth for two gruelling competitions and to avoid ‘doing a Newcastle’.
Any Michu-style bargains in and amongst that lot then?
