Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

I thoroughly enjoyed Shang-Chi. Simu Liu as the lead was a perfect choice. He deftly balanced being dramatic and comedic when needed, and when it came time to kick and punch bad guys, he did that brilliantly too. But the real star of the show is Tony Leung as Shang-Chi's father Wen Wu. I highly recommend watching Infernal Affairs, it's the film that The Departed was based on and it stars Tony.
Anyway back to Shang-Chi, the rest of the supporting cast are brilliant. Akwafina's Katy provides the comedic relief in the film as Shang's best friend. Meng'er Zang as Shang's sister Xailing gives the film an added dramatic weight. Fala Chen as Shang's mum Leiko Wu is the emotional core of the film. The action scenes are amongst the best that have ever appeared in a Marvel film, the standouts being the bus scene and the scaffolding scene. But the best ones might be the ones in Tao Lo, which are slightly reminiscent of classic films like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, House of Flying Daggers and Hero. If you're a fan of East Asian cinema and culture, then you will really enjoy this film.
There are three really cool cameo appearances in the film too. One is from a new actor into the MCU, but she is a legendary actress. and the other two are from actors that have been in the MCU before. Also there are two post-credit scenes. The first one raises an interesting question that might be answered in an upcoming MCU film. And the second post-credit scene looks like it will continue a plot point from Shang-Chi in another film or maybe even a Disney+ show.
