What is one of the best horror movies ever I remember one of my first two horror movies watching were The Shinning and IT as a kid those movies scared me but now I can watch them without getting that scared only time I really get scared is when I see a movie like The Strangers when its based on true events what kind of horror movies scare you...or do horror movies scare you

the horror movies that scare are the ones where you dont full on see whatever it is your suppose to see, the intense stuff, once youve seen the moster killer etc it kinds trivialises it, its when you cant see it you cant process it and so it scares you, lol did that make sense.

Couldn't agree more. The best scary films are the ones which get you to imagine by suggesting what has happened to a character rather than showing full on gore. The anticipation of something happennnign rather than the event itself. Arachnaphobia, although not necessarily a really scary movie ( funny in places ) was a real frightener for those who hate spiders - especially the soundtrack when you could hear the spider walking quickly but not actiually see it !! the original Alien movie is one of the best scary films, not for visuals, but for the themes and questions it poses as well as the ' where is it now on the ship' set up.

lol arachnaphobia was a downright comedy for me, i remember i saw it when i was like 12 or something like that i remember laughing my ass off at how funny it was. entertaining movie overall i think. but how freaking hilarious is it at the end when the guy cannot even beat ONE spider lol. i know its cuz he's paralyzed with fear and all but still it is funny
